Threads to watch

The site might be fucked up over the next day or so, ’cause I’m gonna try some different themes that allow large images to scroll gracefully off to the right. I also want to keep my little rotating images thing in the same size, ’cause those are a pain in the ass to crop like that.

Edit: So I’ve got it in generally good structural shape, moved the nav to the left, but it’s colorless. I’m not sure if that matters at all. Let me know if you love it or hate it or whatever. The images are constrained to a max width of 600px, but that might not work on IE (no biggie). I would’ve just constrained the width on the old one, ‘cept I didn’t even know that CSS property worked yet. Oh well, let me know what you think.

Beat them early and often

For those of you I didn’t PM, here’s my latest trolling project: CAREZ.

The path to lulz is perilous indeed in this new age of modfaggotry. The only way to obtain it is to work from within the system.

Previously, we got our lulz from breaking and bending the rules. I suggest that we do so from now on by obeying the rules completely and utterly. We will become a legion of the carebear “community” that Ex so desperately seeks. We will become…

BIZARRO-PWNZ. Or, CAREZ, if you will.

The rules:

Step 1: Preparation - If you have a PWNZ title or something considered “mean”, change it to a CAREZ title, and something really stupidly “helpful.”

Step 2: Execution - Be stupidly polite in every post you make. THE KEY POINT is to provide advice and act helpful, but ALWAYS PROVIDE THE WORST POSSIBLE ADVICE. Recommend Fire/EA brutes as farmers. Tell people that Rad/Kin is king of the hill in solo PvP. Make it sound as plausible as possible, and use Circuit Boy - esque “math” to make yourself seem credible.

Step 3: Follow-through - NEVER BREAK CHARACTER OUTSIDE OF PWNZ. Back up fellow CAREZ members to make them seem even more credible. When people disagree with you, very politely disagree, and dip into the “It’s my opinion” defense when the math doesn’t hold up. Give crappy advice in-game to PUGs for personal lulz, if that’s your angle.

Step 4: Enjoy - The lulz will come rolling in if we keep it up. As our influence spreads, DB/EA stalkers will become FOTM. Those who disagree will look like total jerks. And the best part is - as long as you stay in character - YOU CAN’T BE BANNED for it.

If you’re in, give yourself a CAREZ title so we can identify each other.
