I don’t play anymore but sometimes I still like to read the forums.

So, I found this awesome thread in which some guy who thinks he’s super clever says that he ‘discovered’ the power of Defenders and that they should only use their primary. Obviously he gets flamed to death, and since he thinks he’s brilliant (he even mentions his IQ is 166 after being flamed) he disagrees with everybody and hilarity ensues for many pages.

Talen Lee starts thread to give people his opinion, they are shocked when he gives it to them.

I don’t want to mention specific names but oh my GOD some supposed forum names are whiny cunts when you don’t enjoy their pwecious awcs.

Also of interest:  While total sales on ALL of NC’s games increased in 4th Quarter over 3rd Qr, CoX’s was the WEAKEST increase, even Guildwars which hasn’t had anything new since the EotN expansion(2007?), increased more.  GG Devs, way to underestimate PvPers.

For Issue 13’s Closed Beta, we have been weighing people’s veteran status more heavily. That doesn’t mean we haven’t invited any new players - but it does mean that the majority of those invited into the closed beta this far have been long time players.

Agreed… If anything… More “long time players” have been EXCLUDED this time than any other closed beta to date …I wish they’d just come out and be honest about it that they’re doing exactly what they did last Beta: Loading phase 1-3 up with Friends, Family, and Sycophants…(obviously I don’t care if I’m ever in another Beta again… but I DO care whether my fellow posters here with keen eyes for criticisms get into Future betas. And I’ll keep pointing that out in every Beta until we finally see some real honesty here)

Anyone know where he is, what he might be up to? I gotta ask b/c someone trolled the RO channel pretty Hard,Son! yesterday claiming to be him… and my Sub lapsed on Friday so I ain’t got no way track him down on the main forums and find out. And the dude didn’t sound anything like him so this might be of interest to Ry as well if it turns out someone’s impersonating him. Anyway, if someone’s got him on speed dial or whatever, get him over here, or have ‘im email iller /// (protgp dot com) plz, Ty!

I have had, in my possession for atleast a year now…  Exclusive knowledge of a particularly awesome Phase shift exploit.  And I think the time has come to use this knowledge to “Improve the Game” ™ in a way that only a professional grade “fixer” like myself has the ability and stealthiness to achieve.

Do not assume however that this means-to-an-end I seek is not Valid, and is somehow automatically scurrilous.  The Epic drama that would ensue may still only be exactly that: just a side-effect to a more noble Cause.  As it stands, I can’t even reveal to YOU guys how the exploit works b/c you might be too tempted to post it on the main boards and take away most of my “creative control” over the situation.

TL;DR, getting-to-the-point:  The main ingredients of the thread I’m considering, (if made) will include:

• Posting to either the S&I or Archetype Forums (haven’t decided yet)
• Nerfing all mid-combat uses for Phase Shift (especially in PvP) by demanding it be “interruptable”
• Revealing that making it “Interruptable” is the ONLY way to close this exploit…
• Appealing directly to the Devs and citing said exploit without revealing said exploit
• Cite PvE as the main reason but acting liek a PvPer, inciting epic drama between PvE’ers and PvP’ers
• Dodging all the most obvious pitfalls that usually mark any thread as nerf-herding.
• Possibly make Masterminds scapegoats for most of it… b/c they’re already bigtime NerfBait.
• Staging it all DURING the timing of Ostrakon’s epic revenge plan.

• **Bonus Points** if I can pull it all off without deviating from “only the purest of intentions”.

The end result will put my previous achievement of getting-Regin-nerfed to Shame.  And it will be something that they could only convict me of “trolling” by way of proving that I was a pathological liar… which as far as I know, isn’t true.   Infact The path of the TRUE nerf herding Pro lies in good intentions on a road to hell with not even a spec of envy on one’s sleeves(in other words, a passion to nerf one’s own powersets!)  If I pull it off, It will be….Performance art that’s so real, even the performer himself believes it’s real.

What’s the Court’s call?  Worth it? …Does anyone object on the grounds of still giving a shit about this game’s “PvP”?
